Will my adapter work?

iPhone requires a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) adapter. Look for “BLE,” “Bluetooth 4.0,” or “Bluetooth 5.0” on the box.

A few quick rules for iPhone:

  • BLE / Bluetooth 4.0+ — works with AXLY ✅
  • Wi-Fi adapters — not supported on iPhone ❌
  • “Classic” Bluetooth (3.0) — Android-only, won’t pair on iPhone ❌
  • Any standard ELM327-based BLE adapter should work.

How to connect your adapter

  • 1. Plug it in. Find the OBD-II port (usually under the dash, driver’s side) and plug the adapter in.
  • 2. Turn the key to ON / start the engine. The adapter needs power and the car’s computer awake.
  • 3. Open AXLY → OBD Settings → Connect. AXLY scans for nearby BLE adapters — tap yours to pair. (No need to pair it in the iPhone’s Bluetooth settings first.)
  • 4. You’re in. Read codes, watch live data, run the track timer, or ask AXLY about anything it finds.

Not connecting?

  • Make sure the engine is running (or key in the ON position).
  • Confirm the adapter is BLE, not Wi-Fi or classic Bluetooth.
  • Unplug the adapter for 10 seconds and plug it back in.
